Levels of Membership
Individual Membership
Individuals whose last position would have made them eligible for Professional membership in CincySHRM but find themselves between HR positions. Examples: relocation, job elimination, separation, etc. Professional-in-Transition membership expires at the next renewal date after the member attains an HR position, making the member eligible for Professional membership. Professional-in-Transition membership shall not extend beyond two years. Professional-in-Transition members may vote and run for an elective office or be appointed to an elective office.
Dues are $75 and cover the cost of annual membership.

(a) practitioners who devote at least 50% of their time to human resource management and reside in the Greater Cincinnati area;
(b) faculty members at accredited colleges or universities who hold the rank of assistant, associate or full professor in human resource management or any of its specialized functions;
(c) HR consultants who practice within the field of human resource management;
(d) HR attorneys who counsel and advise clients on matters relating to the human resource profession;
(e) agents who work with Professional Members in the field of human resource management; and/or
(f) any individuals whose involvement in the field of human resource management, and in the estimation of the Board of Directors, manifests a strong compatibility with GCHRA.
Professional Members may vote and run for an elective office or be appointed to an elective office.
Dues are $100 and cover the cost of annual membership.

For individuals who do not meet the requirements for professional membership, but represent suppliers of products and/or services that promote, support and/or are utilized by the HR profession. Affiliate Members may vote and run for an elective office or be appointed to an elective office.
Dues are $100 and cover the cost of annual membership.

Individual Membership
Individuals who are actively enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree program at an accredited college or university, with an interest in Human Resources. Undergraduate students must be enrolled a minimum of 12 credit hours per quarter/semester; graduate students must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credit hours per quarter/semester. Student members must provide documentation with this application that verifies (a) the number of credit hours; and (b) demonstrated emphasis in HR management subjects; and (c) enrollment in a HR or related degree program. Membership under this classification expires at the next renewal date after graduation, making the member eligible for Professional membership. Student members are not required to be members of an affiliate SHRM student chapter to join the Chapter. Student members are not eligible to hold elective office or vote.
Dues are $25 and cover the cost of annual membership.
You must provide coursework documentation.
Note: This category does not apply to Professional members pursuing a degree in addition to their primary occupation.

Retired Professional SHRM membership is reserved for those members with an active SHRM membership, and in good standing who have attained retirement status and have ceased active full-time work in the field of human resources. Retired members retain the rights and privileges to which they were entitled just prior to retirement. Retired Professional members may vote and hold office in the chapter.
Dues are $50 and cover the cost of annual membership.

Retired Professional Non-SHRM membership is reserved for those members in good standing who have attained retirement status and have ceased active full-time work in the field of human resources. Retired members retain the rights and privileges to which they were entitled just prior to retirement. Retired Professional members may vote and hold office in the chapter.
